School & Childcare Cleaning: The Standards That Actually Matter
Cleaning schools isn't like cleaning offices. Here's the daily/weekly cadence that meets Canadian childcare and public health standards.

Cleaning a school or daycare has to satisfy provincial childcare regulations, public health guidelines, and parent expectations — all with tiny humans present. Here's what a proper schedule looks like.
Daily (during and after school)
Restrooms 2×/day, high-touch surfaces (door handles, light switches, taps) 2×/day, floors nightly, waste + recycling nightly, kitchen/lunchroom surfaces after each meal, toy sanitization for under-5 rooms daily.
Weekly
Deep restroom scrub, classroom furniture disinfection, gym mat sanitization, carpet spot treatment, entrance mat deep clean, playground equipment wipe-down.
Monthly / seasonal
Carpet extraction (every 3 months), floor strip + wax, ventilation grill cleaning, upholstery, deep window cleaning, exterior entrance pressure wash.
Product safety
Every product used in a childcare space must be Health Canada registered, applied at correct dilution, and rinsed appropriately for age group. Our school-serving crews carry only childcare-approved chemistry.
Ratios and background checks
Every crew member serving schools has a Vulnerable Sector Check on file (renewed annually). Our school cleaning contracts include this by default.
